March 26, 2010 – Getting Tanned
Mar 30th, 2010 by Rob Smith, Jr.

My friend J.R. Griggs passed along this idea. He nailed it. I didn’t even edit his wording.

J.R. works on internet marketing. Check him out here.

Below is the recording of me drawing the cartoon.

My friend, Trudy Nash, drew this hilarious cartoon of ‘Fantasy of a Madman’.
Here’s Trudy’s website.

Get the prize and ignore what it costs to get something free. I wanted to slip in my prediction being correct that the medical stocks would all start to rise dramatically after the health care plan got passed.

Here’s the cartoon on Glenn Beck’s website.

Drawn fast. I felt in good shape this day and I think it shopws in my drawing. Below is the recording of my pencils and inks.

March 19, 2010 – The Big O Circus
Mar 24th, 2010 by Rob Smith, Jr.

2010-0319-bigocircus-chrisThis is not one of my better cartoons. However, I was hoping I was getting across the efforts of putting this insane health care plan together. What Pelosi , Reid and Obama are trying pull off requires the political skills equal to a contortionist.

This was also drawn quickly. After I scanned the inked version in, I redrew all three faces using Photoshop. I forgot to record me drawing this cartoon.

March 16, 2010 – The King could turn Lame Duck early…

No health care = Massive losses in November for Democrats and Obama suddenly becomes less welcome at Democrat fund-raising opportunities. Obama can’t have that happen. Appearances are his entire stock and trade. So Pelosi will have to keep her track record in tack and get this through and save Obama from having to figure out what to do if ha can’t hit the campaign circuit.

I was having a bad day when I went at this and basically botched it. While drawing on UStream, viewer Jared Sloger flagged me on the original cartoon, thank goodness. I trashed the first and re-approached the subject very quickly and knocked out the pencil and ink of above. Thanks, Jared!

Below is the stream for the cartoon above:

Below is the first attempt. Please excuse all of my frustration.

March 12, 2010 – Fish Story

A silly gag for what could become a very serious issue. Let folks fish. Let’s make it easier for folks to fish. We should all be trying to fend for ourselves more. What better way than in how we get what we eat. Fishing is an age old way of humans to eat. To start to regulate that would be tragic.

I forgot to record the drawing of this, but I believe the penciling and inking too about 20 minutes or less.

March 9, 2010 – No Money? No Medical Service!

Something like an experience I’ve had recently. This is all about protecting the insurance companies and giving doctors and the pharmaceutical companies cover to not have to lower prices. Lowering prices by the latter two would eliminate the need for insurance or lawyers that feed off of medical problems.

I was trying to illustrate my predicament in a broad way and get the idea across that the insurance companies are the muscle for the docs. Then here comes a Federal version of the same muscle making even more trouble.

Ken Culotta had the nucleus of the idea and I carried it from there and not very well, I’m afraid. Not one of my better efforts.
