September 13th, 2013 – Coming soon: Marrying Rover
Sep 13th, 2013 by Rob Smith, Jr.

2013-0913-WeddingGownToday’s editorial cartoon is reflecting on a disturbing trend in the major press (Washington Post, Huffington Post, etc) in the past week advocating disturbing relationships once thought to be taboo.

This Washington Post story is extremely disturbing. The newspaper seemed to realize this was bad news and changed the title from ‘Sex between students and teachers should not be a crime’. Thankfully the comments are mostly against the story, though amazingly not all. The Washington Post posted a reaction to the first here.

Click here for the Huffington Post story about polyamorous relationships. Be sure to read the comment below the video and see how many are saying people should be able to do what they want.

Then there’s this that was in the Los Angeles Times, I believe, but now I can’t find it. It’s commentary by Richard Dawkins, who has always riled his critis but recently has been getting the fur up on his supporters.

What’s very troublesome is that all of these stories have come about in the past couple weeks. Pray this is not a trend. Though, comments on some of the pages would indicate younger folks are open to all of this. Look out!

Wow! I’ve gotten lax updating this site! I’ll clean up my act. Above is a recording from UStream of me inking today’s cartoon, which I’ll post later.

There goes Obama! Isn’t he havin’ FUN!!??!! And not one press person around!

I have been recently slammed with work and divorce legal issues and was going to pass on both cartoons this week. I quickly knocked this out Thursday night. Entirely done with Photoshop.

This was a tough one to get out. I had an extremely full day where I was on the road. I ended up drawing this at a Denny’s while waiting for my father’s delayed flight near the airport. So this one was drawn a bit more in a rush than others.

What will Obama do in just a few years when the next President points fingers at HIS Presidency?????

This cartoon is a collaborative effort between Ken Culotta and myself. I was going to label the grave diggers Rahm Emanuel and David Azelrod and then decided not to. Someone e-mailed me that they thought I had dressed Obama as Lincoln. Nope, I was thinking more of an 1800s undertaker.

July 16, 2010 – An Obama Vacation

Just where are all the critics of any leisure time Bush took? Moreover, he just thumbs his nose at questions of an appropriate vacation location and just goes on his way.

Apparently if you want to make your troubles disappear, you just pretend they’re not there. So are the actions of Afghanistan’s Karzai as he seeks to excuse 100 on the United Nations Terrorist blacklist. I have to wonder if this is also what the Obama administration seeks to start for the back door of their Afghanistan war.

Another written by Ken Culotta. This was also his layout for the cartoon. Originally this was going to be a cartoon about the Black Panther situation that Ken wrote and really wanted me to do. But I considered the cartoon to be a bit volatile, unfortunately, and pulled it at the last minute. That is why this one only exists in the computer. I entirely drew it in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet as my drawing instruments.
