July 19th, 2014: My Political Cartoon today: Putin’s Power.
Jul 19th, 2014 by Rob Smith, Jr.

2014-0719-Putin2

I do feel that Putin is challenging the power of the west. He’s doing it well do to the West being so lost in poor leadership and home based problems. At this rate Putin could rightly take the mantel as the world’s leading power.

The version above was not the first I did. I was listening to The Five and the Kelly File on Fox News and I pictured this scene and started drawing it. As I got close to finishing the cartoon, I realized it just didn’t work and went back and did the version above. With a head for sequential storytelling, I want to layout a meaningful stage to place the characters in with lots of detail.  These days, I need to work as simple as possible and get the message across. Hope the cartoon above worked!

I’m, backed up with cartoons to send. And the brilliant Ken Culotta called me today with more ideas! I’ll get a few out in the next few days. Tomorrow’s will be one that Ken called me about.

Please feel free to forward and post these as you would like.

February 27th, 2014 – Chuck Hagel’s progressive military!
Feb 27th, 2014 by Rob Smith, Jr.

2014-0227-ChuckHagelDEfense

I’m not against cutting back our country’s military costs, it’s the approach and mindset that bothers me. A practical approach if fine. A political one is not. Current Secretary of Defense seems to be setting up cuts to make the Democrat party happy and not what’s best for our country and our service men and women. Let’s see what happens as this unfolds. I hope for the best, but feel our military will continue to be a whipping boy to drum up votes for the mid-term elections.

February 20th, 2014 – The Flat Earth Society & Global Warming!

My editorial cartoon for today – Response from The Flat Earth Society to John Kerry. Drawing again from John Kerry’s speech a few days ago where he stated that anyone not believing in Global Warming must also belong to the Flat Earth Society. Seems the Flat Earth Society might just disagree with Kerry’s sentiments.

September 13th, 2013 – Coming soon: Marrying Rover
Sep 13th, 2013 by Rob Smith, Jr.

2013-0913-WeddingGownToday’s editorial cartoon is reflecting on a disturbing trend in the major press (Washington Post, Huffington Post, etc) in the past week advocating disturbing relationships once thought to be taboo.

This Washington Post story is extremely disturbing. The newspaper seemed to realize this was bad news and changed the title from ‘Sex between students and teachers should not be a crime’. Thankfully the comments are mostly against the story, though amazingly not all. The Washington Post posted a reaction to the first here.

Click here for the Huffington Post story about polyamorous relationships. Be sure to read the comment below the video and see how many are saying people should be able to do what they want.

Then there’s this that was in the Los Angeles Times, I believe, but now I can’t find it. It’s commentary by Richard Dawkins, who has always riled his critis but recently has been getting the fur up on his supporters.

What’s very troublesome is that all of these stories have come about in the past couple weeks. Pray this is not a trend. Though, comments on some of the pages would indicate younger folks are open to all of this. Look out!

August 30th, 2013 – A Good News Story! – Closed NJ store’s camera catches 4 college football players in act of honesty
Aug 30th, 2013 by Rob Smith, Jr.

Here’s a nice story of honesty of teenagers versus the murderous rage we’ve heard recently.

Here’s the story:
