Rob at Florida A&MA third-generation Florida Republican, Rob Smith, Jr. is a fiercely independent voice in a profession where conservatives are few.  Rob started cartooning 30 years ago and began his political and social commentary in the Winter Park Observer in 1992, followed soon after by appearances in The Ledger in Lakeland, FL.  For six years, Rob also produced conservative editorial cartoons for DBR Media, a syndicate supplying weekly newspapers around the United States; DBR closed their doors in 2008.

Rob started his relationship as editorial cartoonist for the Glenn Beck Program website back when Glenn Beck was a local commentator for WFLA in Tampa, FL, and now enjoys a national audience online thanks to the successful growth of Glenn’s career.

Rob is a member of the American Association of Editorial Cartoonists and the National Cartoonists Society. He serves as education chair for the NCS and as the chair of the Florida Chapter.  He is currently featured as one of 11 Florida editorial cartoonists in the exhibit “Disappearing Ink,” now showing at the College of Journalism and Graphic Studies at Florida A&M University, Tallahassee.
